Narasapuram will be made a solar city: Nirmala

Union Minister for Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday said that the town would be developed as a solar city, the second town in the State after Vijayawada. She laid foundation stones for various development projects with an expected outlay of Rs. 1.5 crore at Matsyapuri village. Reiterating that the Centre was taking steps to regulate the spiralling prices of essential commodities, Ms. Nirmala on Sunday said that though the Union government was supplying pulses and onions to the States, the response from the latter had been lukewarm. On the second day of her tour to West Godavari district, Ms. Sitharaman said that keeping in view of sudden rise of prices of pulses, the Centre had imported different pulse varieties weighting 7,000 metric tonnes and made them available for the States. “Except for AP, no other State government is evincing interest to get the pulses from the Centre.
