‘Employment-intensive units likely to generate 8,000 to 10,000 jobs for the local youth’. The local economy is all set to get a shot in the arm with the establishment of ancillary units and supporting facilities here.

A new industrial ecosystem centred on mobile and electronics industry is shaping up near Tirupati, which is all set to generate thousands of jobs for the local youth.

‘Sri Venkateswara Mobile and Electronics Manufacturing Hub’ is the new industrial landmark near Renigunta airport on the city outskirts, for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone recently.

For the first time in the country, four Indian mobile manufacturing companies viz., Micromax, Celkon, Karbonn and Lava, have come forward to set up manufacturing and assembling units in a single location at the facility spread over 50-60 acres.

“It is a dream come true. The employment-intensive units are expected to generate 8,000 to 10,000 jobs for the local youth”, says Chittoor Collector Siddharth Jain.

The local economy is all set to get a shot in the arm with the establishment of ancillary units and supporting facilities here.
Chittoor district has already reached out to the ‘Make in India’ call as reputed companies like Xiaomi, Gionee and Foxconn have a base in Sri City.

“We will take forward the ‘Make in Chittoor’ call, as far as electronics industry is concerned”, Mr. Jain adds. The area is set to gain a lot, as the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) and Indian Culinary Institute are some of the prestigious national institutes coming up in the vicinity, which help in knowledge sharing and manpower sourcing, thus providing effective forward and backward linkages.

While tourism, spiritualism and hospitality are the areas that the temple city currently thrives on, the arrival of the mobile companies is set to create a new industrial ecosystem and usher in a refreshingly new form of employment.

Two: Many CEOs have begun thinking about this crisis in three phases. They may assign different names or specific lengths to t
