CM invites Wipro to be active
partner in e-pragati During the meeting with Wipro Chairman AzimPremji, the
Chief Minister invited Wipro to become an active partner in e-pragati, in
efforts to make Andhra Pradesh a digitally-progressive state. He said: “I wish
to make e-pragatia model for the entire country. Our state's egovernance
solutions will expedite development process and empower people with the use of
technology in building a brighter, vibrant and a Digital Andhra Pradesh.”
AzimPremji, who came along with his son RishabPremji, enquired about other
digital initiatives in Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister explained about the
fibre connectivity and e-pragati. He has also explained the state government’s
flagship Smart Andhra Pradesh programme.
CM invites Philips to energy
efficiently light up Amaravati
During a meeting with Ronald de Jong, Board
member of Philips, the Chief Minister asked them to come with proposals to
energy efficiently light up Amaravati and help set up cost effective smart
power grid. Elaborating on the state’s achievements in the power sector, he
explained how the government has installed LED bulbs across the state. De Jong
has come forward to assist Andhra Pradesh in lighting and health sectors. He
said that Philips has. He added that they have started community health centres
to promote their initiatives on healthy lifestyle. The Chief Minister asked De
Jong to workout the modalities to work with Andhra Pradesh.
AIIB comes forward to fund
AP’s projects
Jin Liqun, President designate
of Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank(AIIB) said that India and Andhra Pradesh
is top on their agenda. He has come forward to finance for projects that are
ready to take off. Stating that they want to be innovative, Liquin said he will
send a delegation to the state to conduct a study. The Chief Minister
elaborated on his vision towards rural development and drought mitigation. He
said that Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank can fund project for rural roads
and irrigation. “Our first priority to strengthen physical infrastructure,” he
said. He further explained the state’s achievements in efficient energy
management and rural employment scheme.
Tap AP’s potential as hub for
manufacturing: CM
In conversation with Eddy
Bruyninckx, CEO of Antwerp Port Authority, the Chief Minister stressed on his
ambition of making Andhra Pradesh a hub for manufacturing for export. He said:
Andhra Pradesh’s greatest advantage lies in its long coastline. We are working
towards port-led development, thereby making the state logistics hub. Eddy
Bruyninckx said that they will explore value addition towards cargo handling in
Andhra Pradesh’s ports.
Swiss Re to work with Go AP on
Reinsurance of tropical cyclone disasters
Later, the Chief Minister
invited Reinsurance Company Swiss Re to work with the Government of Andhra
Pradesh on the Reinsurance of tropical cyclone disasters. He has also asked
them to assist the state team in the recently announced Government of India’s
crop insurance scheme. Martyn Parker, MD, Swiss Re said that they will come
back with a concrete proposal.

informed the Chief Minister that a date has to be finalized for the
groundbreaking and foundation for the plant in Andhra Pradesh.
- The Chief Minister invited
Gregory Hodkinson, Chairman of Arup to visit Andhra Pradesh in March.
- VikasSehgal of Rothschild
interacted with the Chief Minister on various investment opportunities in
Andhra Pradesh.
- Sandra Wu Wen-hsiu, CEO of
Kokusai Kogyo offered their company's assistance in GIS mapping.
- Charles Edouard, global CEO,
Roland Berger came forward to bring in investments in aerospace and defense and
sectors.
- Hiroyuki Ishige, CMD Jetro,
the Chief Minister asked him to suggest how to attract Japanese companies to
invest in Andhra Pradesh.
- Mike Nefkens, Executive
Vice-President, Hewlett Packard met the Chief Minister who elaborated on the
potential IT sector holds and has invited him to explore opportunities.
- Rafael Mateo, CEO, Acciona
Energy Spain met the Chief Minister.
